Allergies are both annoying, costly and at times embarrassing, so here are some ways in which you are able to limit the affect of allergic reactions on your life:

Lets’ start really simple. Vaccum your living and work premises frequently. Occassionally allergies are caused by the air disturbance created from cleaning, however cleaning a few times per week overall can really help reduce the affects of allergies in the long run. Having a vacuum cleaner that contains a built in air filter would be wise too. Once you finish cleaning you may like to leave the house to let the dust settle. You can reduce the amount of dust mites in your house by making sure you dust alongside vacuuming.

Pay attention to how much time you spend mixing with pets and animals. At least ban your pets from your bedroom as allowing them there puts you at considerable risk, do this even if they are your best friend. Of course try and minimise your contact with all animals particularly: fur, animal saliva, pet dander and dead skin.

Make sure you try to reduce the level of mold in your house by reducing the moisture levels. By lowering humidity levels in the bathroom and kitchen you can reduce greatly the chances of mold forming. Using a home dehumidifier is highly recommended (ebac dehumidifiers and delonghi dehumidifiers come highly recommended). Also clean surface areas with a gentle disenfectant frequently and check that there are no pipes that leak in your household.

If you have ever seen pollen on the surface of your window sill or frame then of course you would be wise to keep windows firmly shut. Instead have your air conditioing unit running and try to use one that has an easily cleanable air filter.

If you are intending to go out for the day then ensure that you check the pollen count for your chosen destination. Try to go outside before 10am and after 4pm when pollen counts are at their highest if possible. Firmly close all windows when driving.

During periods of high wind and humidity you may prefer to stay inside as these are times when pollen and dust levels are at their highest. Try travelling outside of the peak times mentioned also as this will help avoid poorer air quality. Consider wearing a face mask if you suffer very badly. Shower as soon as possible once returning home as pollen and dust may have gathered on your skin.

When planning a holiday ensure that you also look up the pollen level at the destination and be especially aware that you may might need to take special care when going to tropical places. These may have elevated levels of mold spores due to excess moisture.

Plenty of suffering can be avoided by simlpy adhering to thes very simple guidelines.
